Administration Support Roles Hierarchy

one

Do you have little or no experience working in a hotel or pub setting, but have a developing interest in computers, networks, programming and are generally keen to know how things work? If so, an IT internship might be a good way to ‘test the waters.’

An IT intern will help the technology team support the hotel or pub’s computer systems and networks. You might be studying a related qualification at TAFE or university and be on hand to resolve any network connection issues or technical issues staff may confront.

two

Hotels and pubs rely on a range of technology solutions to keep them functioning effectively, and to ensure customers receive the highest standards of service possible.

From security and room access systems, entertainment, point of sale technology, heating and ventilation systems, to the hotel’s computer networks, an IT support technician plays a critical role in maintaining operation of all these platforms and resolve any technical issues that may arise. They will be developing advanced problem-solving skills and have the ability to think quickly, under pressure.

three

The IT Manager has overall responsibility for the efficient operation of the hotel or pub’s IT network and servers. They develop and implement policies and procedures that keep business and customer data secure and protect the hotel or pub’s IT infrastructure from cyber-attacks. They likely also provide advice to department managers regarding how different technology solutions will meet their operational needs.
